Guide to the 2018 Fuorisalone

Also this year, at the same time as the Salone del Mobile in Milan, there will be the Fuorisalone, a set of events, exhibitions, parties, events that take place throughout the city of Milan.
From Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd April, 11 main areas will host companies, designers and designers who will present their creations.
Here is a guide divided by zones:

• TORTONA DESIGN WEEK: is the main area of ​​the design week and the best known of the Fuorisalone. An event dedicated to the family and mothers with the intervention of Oliviero Toscani that tells the story of motherhood in 40 live shots.

• RAINBOW DESIGN DISTRICT: this is the big news of this year, because the LGBT friendly neighborhood participates for the first time at the Milan Design Week with several initiatives entitled Inclusion & Inspiration.

• PORTA VENEZIA IN DESIGN: for the sixth consecutive year, the new design will be exhibited in stores, showrooms and temporary spaces, with tours organized by FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano in a food & wine route in selected restaurants and venues.

• AREA SANTAMBROGIO: one of the newest areas for the design week, where DOUTDESign will take place, the exhibition of young designers under 35, where every evening there will be performances and musical events from 18.00 to 23.00.

• LAMBRATE DESIGN DISTRICT: the district wants to give a renewal with a new identity. The Din - Design In 2018 space is proposed as the headquarters, a hangar where the products of world-famous designers, companies, schools, organizations and architects are exposed.

• VENTURA PROJECT: the new Future label will come to life in the Loreto area and the Ventura Centrale experience will return.

• MONTENAPOLEONE DESIGN EXPERIENCE: the main shopping streets, including Montenapoleone, Verri, Sant'Andrea, Santo Spirito, Jesus, Borgospesso and Bagutta, will come alive with a photographic exhibition linked to the Milanese architecture and to the collateral activities provided by the individual boutiques.

• BRERA DESIGN WEEK: this year's theme is Be Human: designing with empathy, created by Studiolabo. The appointments are many, and among these we find, Brera Design Apartment with a path that highlights design and high craftsmanship.

• ISLAND DESIGN DISTRICT: theme of the event will be Rethinking Materials

• 5 VIE: the Fuorisalone di 5 Vie is the cultural district that from Sant'Ambrogio almost reaches the Duomo. The district will host the Unsighted format, an exhibition project in which designers are asked to produce a piece without knowing the context, the place or the final destination.
