SALONE DEL MOBILE 2024 AND THE NEW JME EXPO RELEASE by MEDIASTUDIO
After an intense week full of events, the 62nd edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, the world's most important international design and furniture fair, came to a close. An edition that made a bang with 361.417 visitors (+54% from abroad), coming from all over the globe, designers, architects, journalists and sector enthusiasts. A 17% increase in attendance compared to the 2023 edition, a real record.
The Fuorisalone also saw a marked increase in visitors: 1.125 events registered on the Fuorisalone.it platform (30% more than last year), with 838 connected brands, an online audience of 630 thousand users, up 23% compared to 2023, from 162 different countries.
The theme of sustainability was one of this year's common threads, with many companies presenting products made from recycled materials and eco-sustainable processes. A strong signal confirming the importance that the design sector is giving to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.
An attention demonstrated, with the theme 'Materia Natura', also in the installations that animated Milan, from iconic locations such as the courtyard of the Palazzo Reale and the State University of Milan, to other lesser-known ones such as the warehouses under the Central Station.
New design trends were the protagonists in the numerous exhibitions and installations in the halls of the fair. The colour green was one of the undisputed protagonists, a symbol of rebirth and hope, but also of authenticity and naturalness. Many companies experimented with materials and shapes, creating innovative and surprising furnishings.
Among the most eagerly awaited events was the SaloneSatellite, which gave space to emerging young designers from all over the world. A unique opportunity for them to make a name for themselves and confront themselves with the big names in the world of design. Numerous workshops and conferences enriched the Salone programme, offering insights and ideas to industry professionals.
MEDIASTUDIO, as every year, did not miss out on this unique visitor experience and precisely for this edition the new JME EXPO release was launched, the result of 14 years of experience in the world of trade fair and private events.
